Sandfield builds software that runs businesses. They create bespoke systems tailored to their customers’ needs for less than it would cost to configure a large ERP package. I worked at Sandfield as a developer.

I worked with customers from varied industries that ranged from retail to shipping and logistics. A typical project started by meeting with the customer to understand their needs. I would then design and develop systems to meet those needs. Much of the software I was building had to be high availability and support high traffic.

I built web-based and Windows applications, embedded systems (for vending machines and payment terminals), and occasionaly I got my hands dirty in some really arcane VBA contraptions that somehow... worked! Most of my projects involved Javascript, C#, and SQL programming.

Alongside the more technical side of my role, I also worked with Sandfield to create a new service offering: managed office productivity and communication apps based on Google Apps for Work.
